i have finally built up my beautiful island of fresh phallus palace enough to play without constantly having to quit and build a new lot or create townies or track down mods or spam tree deco, which means that i can, at last, start Posting About It. in my mind, the culmination of all sims Posting is the legacy, and, and so i have convinced myself to start one.
my sed script for posting large batches of images on dw is on the hard drive i took out of my computer (i scavenge parts and didnt have a SEVENTH sata cables LMAO), and i'm not looking forward to getting that all figured out, and i'm terrible at regularly posting anyway, so i figured i would stick to really short posts without image ids or anything else like my list-locked liveblogs on fishtime.

named VRITRA dominic. god, not knowing the name of the sim i made 2 days ago is such a good start to my Posting.
he started in the batch of townies i last made. as i slowly released every townie, freshly wiped and randomized, into the wilds, i found myself attached to vritra here. i love his sad little face.
he's living in the only apartment building in fresh phallus palace. this place currently holds another family of playables, the ligea family, who live across the hall. i just redid the appearances of the parents (pavrun and p- something else) tonight, so i even remember that they have 4 children. vritra's apartment is a little smaller than theirs, but it still has 2 bed/2 bath.
the first thing i do with every sim is make them study to cooking level 1 so they can make spaghetti without catching the entire kitchen on fire.
it was at this point that i realized that i had already randomized vritra's skills, and, against all odds, he had ended up with 10 cooking skill, so i had just spent most of the sim day making him study a book with absolutely zero effect. (i then knocked all his skills to zero, only leaving him 1 point in cooking).
i've done a bare minimum of decoration and cluttering of his apartment, going for kind of a "i just moved out of my parent's house and own only things i found on the street or could carry in a suitcase" kind of feeling. the second bedroom and bathroom are currently locked and completely empty. sorry to this man's rent!
while making him eat a very sad bologna sandwich, i detected the sound of sim-children's laughter out of the wrong side of the building: instead of in the apartment across the way, it was coming from the ground outside, under vritra's kitchen window.
inexplicably, the entire ligea household (minus the toddler) had decided to hang out in the bushes under the fire escape. is this going to be a thing? are these freaks going to keep migrating out here to mess around? WHAT ARE THEY EVEN DOING HERE??
vritra was feeling kind of lonely, and i didn't feel like allowing him into the bushes to scamper around with his neighbors, so i sent him to bodega bay (the bodega at the bay with the gnomes) to meet some people.
bodega bay is really small, so this is what always happens.
vritra went around admiring anyone who would stand still for long enough. apparently the rare positive attention was enough to get chrysalis to meld and become one with the oranges stand.
vritra randomized super tall, and his weary face makes him look depressed and awkward even when doing a normal sim amount of staring at other sims while they finish talk interactions.
there is something so beautiful about him following pavrun out front and then just looming there awkwardly and staring while pavrun refuses to self-cancel his sitting.
other sims stand and stare: oh they're waiting for free will to kick in
dominic stands and stares: yeah he's just like that.
then vritra walked around inside, seriously contemplating every poster on the wall. i'm convinced that no other sim i've played has managed to be so wet and pathetic.
now i want to build a club with a dance floor just to watch him orbit around and try to get people to acknowledge him.
i'm really excited to see where playing him takes me :D i have no idea who to get him to reproduce with or anything. i'm a huge micromanager, so usually i have some kind of plan if i intend to have a sim have kids, but i have enough townies and abandoned playables now that i'm content to just let things play out.
